We will figure out long range quick charge batteries. Oil (gasoline, diesel) is stored energy and some countries like the US, Russia and Saudi Arabia have these stored energy units and have been ever more clever at retrieving them. China, India, Japan and other smart high population countries do not have these stored fossil energy units nor conditions where the associated smog is immaterial. I am thankful for the ongoing information drumbeat of observers such as Steve LeVine who seek to bring accurate observation to conversation. My country (US) will lead in battery invention because Yankee ingenuity is alive and well, our experiment continues. When the cost of traveling 500 kilometers costs $50 using gasoline and $15 using battery and the vehicle and time costs are near parity the Kelly Bluebook of my Cadillac will drop from $20,000 to $3,000 overnight. Rather than fear change I’m hopeful I’ll use that energy to adapt.
