This is a beautifully written article, well formed hypothesis, provocative and rich in identification of both technical and large scale forces. There have been true “revolutions” of Homo sapiens and they seem to have some things in common not the least of which is connectivity and communication. The cognitive revolution, agricultural revolution, enlightenment and the industrial revolution, technological revolution are examples of some of the episodes that come to my mind.

It would be arrogant and altogether small minded to think that history has stopped unfolding. It would be equally banal and constrictive to boastfully declare a prediction of the next episode (some aged historians and captains of capitalism and politics nevertheless claim such prophetic ability). It is my guess that in writing about a specific short term “here an now” situation that Mr. Frey is musing a sideways peripheral glance at the next human leap. In some way we are going to hyper connect and form and mutate at a warp speed never before manifested by our species.

Utopia or dystopia, neither or both, lets begin to play with a name of this revolution. We could borrow from Mr. Musk and call it the Neuralink revolution, Mr. Roddenberry’s Mind Meld revolution, what else might someone call a revolution that was somewhat related to his article?
