There is considerable truth in the criticisms of capitalism (in the abstract), fragmentation/polarity as concepts, conservatism as a sometimes narrow vehicle for retrenchment and dismantlement. Equal volumes of criticisms can be squarely loaded on my own tendencies toward progressive ideals, broad social investment, inclusion, humanitarianism broadly as an issue of global value … if someone chooses to pursue angles of criticism in the stereotype and abstract.

Am I making the argument for unfettered capitalism, gross disproportionate accumulation of wealth? Am I suggesting basic rights such as healthcare, education, opportunity, freedom from needs of basic life or privileges be bestowed based on wealth or power not bedrock values? No, not at all.

I am of the opinion that respect for all, entertaining that the great majority of people are not sociopathic, welcoming compromise and inclusivity especially from those who have passionate differences of opinion from my own is at the bedrock of the paradox of social fabric. We are all different and compromise is a good thing. Abuse, racism, bigotry, cruelty, inhumanity are NOT good things. That leaves a lot of room in finding some good things at the practical level of almost any concept — including, I believe, capitalism and a reasonable representation of conservative caution.
