There is a post modern philosopher, Michael Foucault, who wrote about power and how its use is pervasive through our social structures calling this “capillaries of power”. There was in his mind no escape, to push back on the powers (resistance) he suggests is more of the power structure at work. If this idea has merit — I think it does — and Foucault could articulate it in the social structures of 1980 — where are we now?
