Probably just math, fascists or not. In Texas we have thousands of mental patients in prison because the are no beds available in the state mental hospitals. We have in Texas far to few mental health workers and because the few in role are overwhelmed and quitting there are over 5,000 unfilled public mental health positions. It is heartbreaking, tremendously sad to me. I suspect the original inspiration for sending immigrants to distant cities from Texas is between our own internal mental health and incarceration growth (mostly related to drug convictions, I’d argue maybe drug use is a mental health problem as much or more than criminal problem) the facilities are over crowded. Dr. Burry (a medical doctor) is probably just looking down a spreadsheet at the details like he did in the movie. If the fascists consolidate and fortify control it will of course accelerate. Want to know the real “extractors” — look outside the investment community altogether to the political and ideological power brokers.
