No one is a more insidious propaganda source than myself to me. Who among us does not rationalize, justify, seek to discern patterns and control “for the good”. “Evil” is not a force like gravity or nuclear fusion. It’s an altogether human attribute. “Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto,” or “I am a man, I consider nothing that is human alien to me.” (Terrance, freed Roman slave, approximately 170 BCE). We will evolve and entropy things such as what we call evil (and it is truly banal) or simply stall into extinction.
