In Texas the Trump controlled state government is pushing through the most repressive voter suppression laws in the country. We outlawed abortion and at the same time awarded open carry of battlefield weapons with no restrictions, training or permit required. I’m born in and lived all my life a Texan. I used to ignore the extremists screams to secede (again). As part of the controlled and loyal Trump shadow government whole states are posed to support anti-democratic rebellion. You cannot imagine the virulent, visceral, violent, blindly emotional, zealot and jihadist style commitment of a fairly sizable amount of the state population. If anyone is reading this it is a weak version of the William Travis letter from the Alamo: All loyal citizens of democracy come to our aid. Register voters. Fight suppression. Help us get out the vote no matter how long the lines (due to poll reductions, mail in reductions) and how high the intimidation. If you are in Texas or can influence someone here vote democracy, vote for people who would roll back vote suppression regardless of party. No one has fought more bravely or been tortured more savagely than moderate truly conservative traditional Republican Party members like former State House Speaker Joe Straus (GOP). Give me liberty or give me death. I will not be part of oppressing color, vulnerable, diversity, thought, speech, race, religion or the vote. I will not be part of separating children from mothers and sending them back to rape and death. In the name of the highest ideals of the founding of this government, come to our aid, help defend democracy!
