I’m in the “boomer” bunch, born the next to last day of 1952. There never was a “them”, there is no justice, just us. Welcome to “just us”. Some of my good friends (really, actually, we do stuff together) are teenagers right now and we have great discussions and I completely enjoy their energy of youth. Two close friends are in their mid-80s and we hang out too!

We have gone through the “lost generation”, the “greatest” (ha) generation (being 10 in 1934 and just 18 in 1942 and bringing us the arms race, near unfettered environmental pollution and Vietnam). Oh, and Dick Nixon, twice. The “Beat” generation. “Hippies” were a small minority of Boomers, I was a wanna be Hippie in 1969, now I really am one. It never really was about just “Hair”.

So what is my point? Xers are hilarious, just naturally good at making the mundane authentically comical. Trophies for everyone in 3rd grade, Breakfast Club special angst and punk rock. I’ve loved all of it. I’m happy to welcome all Generation X to just one of all of us. The truth is I had it easier, didn’t do enough to help my grand children but since I’m not dead yet I’m expanding not shriveling. Gotta go, meeting the school bus to pick up and walk with the 6 year old grandson of the two jobs each illegal Latino biological grandparents who are my adopted family. We’re working on math, without time or space obviously God is non-geometric non-dimensional but math may come in handy for the 6 year old who is my future. After all, my best days are yet to come! See, I know how to get a 47 year old to roll her eyes and say “yuck”.
