I'll share something that I have seen countless times in addiction recovery. I've been clean and sober over 20 years and time and again experienced someone get "clean and sober" and get their "live in order" and have a decent program -- and stop there. Usually in group settings they share how awful things were and how joyous, glorious and free they completely are now. My experience is that is not life -- that no matter what level of spiritual maturity if we stay on the firing line of life we find there is no end to the needed progress and development, growing and learning -- and it comes with pain, mistakes, trial and error and work. Working to move on to stage 3 is not a cake walk (in my experience) ...
