I believe this is understatement. Three examples come to mind for this belief. 1). I don’t think we have even an elementary clarity/validity about the plausible theory of the unconscious mind (Schelling, Coleridge, Freud, etc.) and it’s relationship to logic and emotion amalgamated into what is sometimes labeled “ego” 2). The fabric of our mind is perhaps elastic, an example being intelligence as including (as an example) diversity in intelligence via nature as described by J.B. MacKinnon, 3). The persistent tendency towards polemic duality that leads to increased probability of huge costs such as war or at the least (as we see in America right now, gridlock).
