I believe the theme of this article is helpful and *not* an alarmist premise. The denial / avoidance / repression of realistic vulnerabilities and possibilities is whistling in the dark. Non-discussion about potential disruptors of “Sunny day” conditions not only creates lack of reasonable preparation it also reduces psychological conditioning to have some degree of shock absorption fitness. It seems to me that it is likely the military budget of the United States is geared toward “last war” and emotionally comforting show of force not a realistic apprasial and budgeting based on 2020 national threat assessment. Do we really think the Pentagon or the public would invest in analytics and response capabilities vs. a new thrilling traditional weapon? My guess is probably not.
