I am active in the Christian religion, attending church regularly. This quote, to me, is pretty centralist to the Jesus teachings and my experience is that a pretty sizable % of people professing to be Christian treat your poignant interpretation as peripheral, inconvenient to their ideology of compliance, conformance, moralistic rigidity.
