Having never been to Alaska I'd like to visit. In the spirit of infrastructure and economy why would we not lay two very high speed fiber cable (for diversity and redundancy one oceanic one terrestrial) and build data centers there? A major challenge for data centers is cooling and as goofy as it sounds why not build data centers in Alaska and create some jobs while reducing consumption of electricity?
