Great article. I really appreciate the graphic at the end. I had a brilliant (perfect SAT) son who did not have a full psychotic break till his late 20s and then we struggled for 9 years before his death from schizophrenia. We know so little, I think the suggested techniques of observation and tendencies are useful for the broad spectrum of complex interactions we call “relationship”. Like the psychoanalysis people like to say, “It ain’t about what it is about.”
