Ella as I read this I found myself completely identifying not just with but also AS this woman and child. 13,000 years and endless manner of circumstances are different — yet, to me, it is the human journey. For all that is poignant about this story I hope to God we wake up that earth is our small blue and green home amidst a sea of empty black space and unless we care for her and each other we will all perish. May we find love for each other the way this mother invested her whole psyche in this child. May we find the magical loving child within us and see it lovingly in all others.
