D.J. Trump, Big Data and Tonal Modulation
For those of us who listened to US President Trump brief speech about US A— Iran/regional military, political and ideological conflicts perhaps it is a useful time to step back from situational and individual opinions, politics, policy and/or moral biases and emotions and ask speculative questions about the likelihood of the use of big money, big data and advanced analytics. There is no doubt about the amount of money and a history of using big data and targeted use through analytics. Perhaps the following questions have some pragmatic basis for a little consideration not as politics or policy but as neurological and psychological hypothesis:
- Consider that the brief address maybe was carefully calculated using themes, words, tonal quality and constructs very choreographed by data and analytics based on a model of desired effect.
- It is my speculation that President Trump has received voice, tonal and pace training calculated for effect. I have no credentials and have not read or heard any such assessment. I think the ways he “sounds” in these structured settings has changed over time.
- If the “framing” of positions, options, claims, projections were calculated using next generation influence techniques what would be the expected results and what would be reasonable reaction to mass propaganda 2.0?
- It is almost certain that one outcome would be to fortify stock market confidence. The averages jumped to record highs immediately following speech and attribution was made just to ambiguous partial phrases and key words.
OK. This Medium article was written without any conscious desire to espouse any position on particular politics, personalities, opinions or positions. It was written because I could not shake the (perhaps due to paranoid, conspiratorial, or other neurological pathology) intuitive sense that things felt orchestrated and calculated in a way that gave me pause to examine my own psyche. By typing something inherently public I get to look at my own cognitive filters.
