As I was reading this article I kept thinking of the neural networks that have inhabited New Jersey — Edison Labs and Bell Labs came to mind for me. I can attest from experience of the high capacity neural networking that happened at Bell Labs as I participated in the final years of late 1970s early 1980s. In that sense Silicon Valley is probably the most dense neural network corridor for the last 50 years. It is an odd conceptual non-physical non-geographic network to conceptualize but it seemed to pattern on geography.
