As a lifelong Texan with Latino family all I can say is “amen”, please listen to Alejandro Diaz. Think how similar in the stereotype/generalization (always a dangerous and thin ice) the Texas Latino culture is to the (now disappeared) “Chamber of Commerce” Joe Straus type Texas Republican. Work hard, minimize interference, obey and honor the law, be responsible, family first, church, education, personal responsibility and duty, initiative, pragmatism more than ideology. I tend to think if we would focus on the issues highlighted in this article we would all be more balanced, honest, less divisive and more compromisingly united.
